Job description:
Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive, results oriented and analytical Data Analyst with experience in SQL, Power BI, and data analytics, combined with knowledge of health and safety metrics and reporting. The Data Analyst will support the Systems Lead by developing and maintaining dashboards, analysing data, and providing actionable insights to improve health and safety performance across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dashboard Development & Reporting: Create and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to monitor health and safety KPIs (e.g., incident rates, near misses, safety audits, and compliance metrics).
- Data Analysis & Insights: Analyse trends in health and safety data to identify risks, root causes, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
- SQL Querying & Data Management: Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis needs.
- Health & Safety Compliance Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual health and safety performance reports. Ensure data accuracy and alignment with regulatory standards.
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Support: Work with the Health and Safety team to understand reporting needs and develop solutions that support safety initiatives.
- Data Integrity & Governance: Conduct regular data quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness of health and safety data.
- Process Improvement: Automate recurring reports and implement tools to enhance reporting efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in a data analyst role, preferably with exposure to health and safety metrics and reporting.
- Technical Skills:
- SQL: Strong proficiency in writing queries, views, and stored procedures.
- Power BI: Experience developing dashboards, creating DAX measures, and building data models.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
- Python: ability to develop data-driven solutions and scripts.
- Excel: Advanced skills including pivot tables and formulas.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Understanding of key health and safety indicators (e.g., TRIFR, LTIFR, near misses, safety observations) and their importance in workplace safety management.
- Reporting Standards: Familiarity with regulatory health and safety reporting standards and requirements.
