JD-Con Zambia Limited is a construction firm dedicated and contributing to infrastructure development in Zambia and in the region. Due to our continued growth and new projects, we are seeking to engage talented and self-driven professionals in the following vacant
positions:
1. Civil Engineer (01)
The ideal candidate must possess a full Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of three (03) years of relevant experience in the road sector and proficient in relevant software. Must be a paid-up member of Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ).
Successful candidate shall be responsible for:
i. Overseeing the construction works and conducting site investigations and feasibility studies
ii. Reviewing detailed engineering plans and specifications and managing project budgets and schedules
iii. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards in collaboration with other stakeholders
iv. Knowledge of tender preparation processes is a must.
2.Quantity Surveyor (01)
The ideal candidate must have a full Grade 12 Certificate and a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry. Must have a keen eye for detail and strong knowledge of measurement principles and methods of measurement with proficiency in relevant software and excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
Must be a paid-up member of Engineering Institution of Zambia
(EIZ).
Successful candidate shall be responsible for:
i. Preparation of accurate cost estimates and bills of quantities.
ii. Management and control of project costs throughout the construction process.
iii. Monitoring and reporting on cost variations and analyzing project costs.
iv. Ensuring compliance with contractual requirements understanding of construction contracts and legal frameworks.
v. Preparation of final accounts and settlement agreements.
vi. Knowledge of tender preparation processes is a must.
3. Administrative Assistant (01)
The idea Candidate must have a Full Grade 12 Certificate, Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Administration or Office Management with a minimum of five (05) years as an Administrative or Executive Assistant or in a similar role in the construction or similar industry. Must be a paid-up member of the appropriate Professional Body.
Successful candidate shall be responsible for a wide range of administrative and clerical duties including:
i. General administrative support (Secretarial and receptionist services)
ii. Communication and handling of Correspondences
iii. Data Entry and Record Keeping
iv. Customer Service
v. Knowledge of tender preparation processes is a must
4. Accountant (01)
The ideal Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with a minimum of five (05) years of experience in accounting. Must possess strong knowledge of Zambian accounting standards and tax laws with
proficiency in relevant accounting software, strong attention to detail and accuracy and excellent analytical and problem, solving skills.
Membership of ZICA (Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants) is a must. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
i. Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers
ii. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
iii. Managing accounts payable and receivable
iv. Preparing and submitting tax returns and ensuring compliance with Zambian tax laws
v. Conducting monthly and annual closing activities
vi. Performing bank reconciliations
vii Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring
viii. Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
ix. Familiarity with commonly used accounting software in Zambia is a must.
