EOSH COORDINATOR - ROUTE TO MARKET

Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Zambia (CCBZ) presents an exciting opportunity for the EOSH Coordinator to join the Manufacturing team. The role will report to the Country Lead - EOSH.

Job Aim:To coordinate and manage the implementation of the EOSH system, including all internal and external audits, and support corrective action across all functions, capabilities, sites, route to market, and fleet operations within the organisation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Job Accountabilities:

• Knowledgeably discuss EOSH procedures and practices with Process Owners, in the drive to provide support and advice for ensuring EOSH is managed effectively
• Provide input, advice, and guidance to all stakeholders in terms of meeting EOSH requirements for new projects, lines, systems, and processes, based on proactively developing a knowledge-base of these, from doing a thorough investigation each time
• Timeously communicate changes and related information to stakeholders regarding EOSH systems and processes
• Continually monitor compliance with EOSH systems across the business to enable required standards to be achieved that ensure a safe, healthy workplace with no damage to the environment
• Ensure compliance with applicable local legislation, as well as monitoring that legislation applied in the workplace is current, and documentation is accessible to all users at the site.
• Engage internal and external stakeholders in a way that grows constructive two-way communication, and use input to inform and agree on goals
• Lead Process Owners to ensure all risks are continually assessed, that assessments are up-to-date, and that risk is mitigated and managed against procedures and requirements
• Manage incident and accident investigations to ensure 'technical correctness' and accuracy of root causes
• Oversee corrective action against deviations based on audits, inspections, incidents, and/or other non-conformance findings
• Proactively monitor compliance with housekeeping, 5S, and GMP procedures, and ensure that standards are maintained
• Review the EOSH Training Matrix monthly to ensure all EOSH-related training appears on the Matrix, that training takes place, that the Matrix is continually updated, and that attendance of participants occurs as it should
• Proactively monitor internal company permits issued and ensure compliance with permit requirements, train permit issuers on the completion of forms and the associated meaning of each of these, and monitor adherence to permits.
• Monitor the implementation and maintaining of a hearing conservation program, including audiometric screening, analyse results of the screening, and take appropriate corrective action where issues are evident
• Review inspection/test results of all equipment where it relates to the safety of the equipment, ensuring this is done on time and that corrective action is taken where such equipment is found to be unsafe
• Construct and maintain an implementation plan for Health and Safety and Environmental systems
• Develop and conduct training to ensure awareness and understanding of the EOSH systems
• Implementation of Local requirements & KORE requirements
• Liaise with relevant parties where KORE or legal EOSH requirements change. Track implementation of changes
• Participate, develop/train, and assess internal auditors
• Oversee fleet safety management, including the implementation and monitoring of vehicle safety inspection schedules, driver fitness-for-duty checks, and fleet-related risk assessments
• Develop and maintain a fleet safety programme covering defensive driving, load securement, fatigue management, and journey management protocols for all company and contracted vehicles
• Monitor driver behaviour through telematics or observation programmes, analyse trends, and implement corrective interventions where unsafe driving patterns are identified
• Coordinate and facilitate driver wellness and medical surveillance programmes, including periodic medicals and vision screening for all fleet operators
• Investigate all fleet-related incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures to reduce road traffic collisions and vehicle-related injuries
• Ensure all company vehicles are equipped with required safety equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, reflective triangles, PPE) and that pre-trip/post-trip inspection processes are adhered to

Skills, Experience & Education

• BSc degree or Bachelor's degree in Environment, Occupational Health and Safety
• At least2 years in an EOSH and logistics/distribution environment
