A leading financial institution in Zambia is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to join its ICT team as an IT Security and Database Officer. Job Purpose

The IT Security and Database Officer will be responsible for safeguarding the organization’s information systems, managing databases, and ensuring system security, integrity, and availability. The role plays a critical part in protecting digital assets and maintaining efficient and secure banking operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain IT security systems and controls
• Manage and optimize database performance and availability
• Implement cybersecurity measures to protect systems and data
• Ensure data integrity, backup, and recovery processes
• Identify and mitigate system vulnerabilities and threats
• Support secure and efficient ICT operations
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance system performance

Requirements and Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 ‘O’ Level credits
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
• Valid membership with the ICT Association of Zambia (ICTAZ)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in IT Security and/or Database Administration
• Experience in banking or financial services is an added advantage
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CEH, CISSP, Oracle, SQL Server are desirable
